Mugshot websites are a unique reputation threat because they are built specifically to rank in Google for people's names. They aggregate public arrest records — including photos, charges, and personal information — and present them in formats optimized for search engine visibility. A mugshot site result often appears in position 1–5 for a person's name, above their LinkedIn profile, personal website, and professional accomplishments.

The business model of many mugshot sites is extractive: they charge between $200–$400 per site to remove the content they posted without your consent. Multiple sites post the same record simultaneously, meaning satisfying one site's extortion doesn't solve the problem — you'd need to pay each site individually, often for a total cost exceeding $2,000–$5,000.

We remove content through legal channels — DMCA claims where the mugshot photo constitutes copyrightable content, state statute-based removal requests (multiple states have passed anti-mugshot extortion laws), formal demand letters, and where necessary, coordinated legal action. After removal, we submit Google de-indexing requests to ensure the cached version is cleared from search results.
